Trees for survival

Last term we started Trees for Survival. Firstly we clipped the root trainers together. Secondly we put some soil inside the root trainers. Soon after we put our fingers in to make a hole for the plant. Then we put the plant in the hole. Finally we got some more soil and put it around it so the plant stays in and we did the same with all the other holes. Once the the tray was full we put it in the trees for survival unit. Once they are all planted we need to make sure they are growing properly. We need to check on our plants every few days and make sure that they are watered and there are no weeds growing with them. Once they are big we will plant them out in the community.

Swimming Sports Day

On Tuesday 8 March Neil, Lucca and Alice went to the swimming tournament
with a bunch of others. When we arrived there we had to wait for a looooooong
time! All the schools had flags but Point View's was the BEST! We had an
early morning tea to full ourselves. Lucca was the first to race. He came
first in the freestyle race and second in the semi finals. Alice came first
in breast stroke and third in the semi finals. Neil also got a good placing.
He came second in the boys breast stroke and third in the semi finals.
The water was FREEZING, and it dragged you back but that didn't stop
us from fighting!!!
We had a tiring but BREATHTAKING day!!!!!!!!

Sonshine Ranch

Sonshine Ranch
On Tuesday 15 February, Room 26 went to Sonshine Ranch.  Once we got there, we were welcomed and then sent to our first activity. It was the flying fox. I was scared but eager at the same time. I grabbed the handlebars and stepped off the platform.  I went flying like a fox. “ So that’s why they call it flying fox, “ I thought. When I got off I ran to the rope swing. My dad had to catch everyone when they slowed down.  At last, it was my turn.  “Aaaaaaaaaaaa,” I screamed as I jumped off the platform.  It was so fun I thought I could swing forever.  But, unfortunately I wasn’t aloud to.  So I hopped off and ran to the horse stable with all the other kids.  Our first activity was horse tricks.  We did it on a wooden horse first and then on a real horse, it was hard.  Finally we did normal horse riding, my horse’s name was Opal.  Our last activity was water confidence.  I was the first girl to cross the tyres.  But then, we had to go home.  If anyone asks me which was the most exciting trip you have ever been on? Do you know what I would say? SONSHINE RANCH!!!!!

Sonshine Ranch

Sonshine Ranch, Flying Fox

I walked up to the platform,

My hands were shaking as if earthquakes were happening.

I heard the sound of people cheering,

It sounded like wolves howling.

Suddenly I leapt off the platform

Like a Cheetah pouncing for it's prey,

I zoomed past the trees,

Like an eagle soaring in the sky.

That I'll never forget.
